Expert advice
“The world is full of self-organizing systems, systems that form structures not merely in response to inputs from outside but also, indeed primarily, in response to their own internal logic.
Global weather is a self-organizing system; so, surely, is the global economy.”
I offer professional expertise in the field of rural economic development, value chain development, agricultural policy as well as food and nutrition security. The focus lies on the development of macro-economic, cross-sectoral and holistic strategies suited to cushion negative social, ecological, and economical effects of rural transition.
This includes:
- technical and conceptual inputs and studies;
- design and evaluation of new and existing development projects;
- writing offers and reports for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), other federal government departments as well as European and international donors;
- preservation of knowledge and formulation of good and bad practice examples.
metodology, instruments & knowledge management
“We’re far and still at the beginning as all knowledge flows.
Upon the future it will depend wether at present, we were effective. ”
Apart from sectoral advice I do also advise on suitable instruments and methodologies that aim at improving project effectiveness. I like focussing on their practicability to rather improve day-to-day project life than to increase administrative bottlenecks.
Facilitation
“For the possible to be achieved, the impossible must be tried. ”
In addition to sectoral and methodological advice I also provide assistance in the planning and facilitation of small and output-oriented workshops and strategy meetings.
